Otsego County welcomes over 500,000 visitors each year. It was estimated that last year, over 2,000 air visitors traveled through the Oneonta Municipal Airport. The Airport serves as the primary general aviation gateway to Cooperstown, the National Baseball Hall of Fame, as well as other local attractions.

Roughly 75 percent of air visitor traffic through Oneonta is destined for Cooperstown. During major ceremonies or inductions at Cooperstown, Oneonta Municipal plays a key role in the transportation of sports figures, dignitaries, and other visitors to the area.

Other key attractions in the area include the Farmer's Museum, the Fenimore House, the Soccer Hall of Fame and the Glimmerglass Opera. While the Airport is used heavily in the summer for these attractions, it serves many other strategic purposes year-round including business transportation, new business development, medevac, law enforcement, and others.
